As grateful as I feel for having been to the beautiful country of Portugal, getting back into the work routine is a HUGE struggle – if I could follow summer around the world every year, I would have no hesitation in doing so! (my post about Portugal to come soon)

Being back however also means back to blogging and first up, I want to talk about my awesome weekend in Cape Town a few weeks back.

Having my parents live there is always a nice excuse to visit the city, and it turns out that with each new visit I seem to discover new places to go and new things to experience.

My first new discovery (not so new to Capetownians) is the STUNNING Green Point Park. My mom and dad introduced me to this space in the middle of the city and it is truly world class when it comes to parks; gorgeous dams, manicured lawns and educational info on the flora and fauna makes it a must do if you are in the area. I love that dogs are allowed too (on a leash) and that the opening and closing times are not dictated by actual time but by when the sun rises and sets.

Second new discovery is an absolute hidden gem of a restaurant – La Mouette; French inspired fine dining at very affordable prices! Biccari’s seem to leave things to the last minute so the fact that we managed to secure a booking hours before the evening was a miracle! If it wasn’t for a cancellation, we would have had to book weeks in advance for this place – heads up if you are looking to go. The food was UNBELIEVABLE – possibly some of the best dishes I have ever tasted, and although we were warned that the portions were on the smaller side, we left with bursting tummies! I would have had no hesitation in giving the restaurant a 5/5, however the waitress was a little off which was a bit disappointing but on a whole, I would highly recommend a visit to this stylish yet understated restaurant. I’ll let the pics do the talking.

My last awesome discovery of the weekend was based on some good advice from Bailey from Vanilla Blonde. She has often mentioned how happy she has been with her hair since she has been visiting Scar Hair, and since I was in CT and in desperate need of colour before our trip, I decided to give it a go. Firstly, Brittny is the nicest hairstylist who gives honest advice as to what she thinks would work best on your hair. She managed to get my hair a perfect colour of blonde and I didn’t have to have an excessive amount of highlights done. I was very impressed and would highly recommend a visit to Scar Hair!

Apart from my new discoveries, my heart has always been in love with Cape Town; the sunsets, the sea air and just the general magic that the city gives off.

I will be heading back there in December and I absolutely CANNOT wait!
