There are some exciting times ahead on the retail front in SA – not only did the awesome and super cool ‘home’ section of Cotton On launch in stores last week, but SA is getting its very first H&M store in a few months time.
For those in the blogging and media world, this is old news, but for those that aren’t yet aware, we are going to be spoilt with two HUGE H&M stores; one in Sandton City and one at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
Over the years, we have seen the South African fashion retail scene expand and offer us more variety and diversity in our choices; we have many of the big international name brands available to us – Zara, Top Shop and Mango to name a few – that are priced competitively to the international prices. Why we are especially excited about this new addition is that H&M, a Swedish multinational clothing brand, stocks on-trend pieces at affordable prices – from what it looks like, think somewhere around Woolies prices!
Founded in 1947 in Västerås, Sweden, H&M is actually now the second-largest global clothing retailer with more than 3 000 stores in 59 countries.
During our recent trip to Europe, us Spruce Girls went a bit H&M crazy! The wide variety of styles, lines and pieces is insane and we cannot wait to see what is in store for us in the new local stores. Here are some of the pieces we purchased; from basic essentials like skinny jeans and classic blouses to gorgeous clean-cut evening wear and interesting jewellery pieces – H&M definitely has something for everyone.

We have it on good authority that Sandton City will be opening H&M’s flagship store, which will be approximately 3000m² in size, at the end of November, just in time to spoil fashionistas come Christmas time. It looks like Cape Town might be opening slightly sooner, in October.
We hope that you are as excited as we are for this amazing addition to our shopping scene; we can’t wait to hear and see what your purchases will be (there is no way you will walk out of the store with nothing – it is close to impossible!)
Happy Friday, have a wonderful weekend!
