A few months ago, Sam begged me to buy some tickets to POT for a girls day out!
Ilaria: WTF is POT?
Sam: Its Pinotage on Tap, and it’s the best day ever!
Knowing Sam and her skills for identifying the finer things in life, I said OK and we headed off to what was the perfect start to the summer 2014 season!
Pinotage on Tap is a wonderful all-day wine festival celebrating and showcasing the delicious diemersfontein coffee pinotage and has now become a must in our yearly event calendar!
The JHB festival was held at the gorgeous Val Bonne Country Estate in Modderfontein. We were welcomed with a goodie bag including a wine glass for the day, meal vouchers and a delicious veggie wrap.
The setting was rustic and beautiful, set alongside a tranquil dam. The whole day felt like a day out in the country side, far away from the city life – which is exactly what is needed after a long and cold winter!
Barrels of the pinotage were stationed everywhere around the venue, and we really didn’t have to “stumble” very far in order to refill our glasses.
The vibe was super chilled, and it seemed like patterns were a popular choice for the spring trend.
The great thing about this venue and the festival is that it was not overcrowded with too many people and too many long queues. The ladies bathrooms were always available and close by, the wine refilling stations were easy and accessible and all in all, it was a great crowd and a fantastic way to spend a sunny Saturday.
Durban and Cape Town’s allocated dates are still coming up, so we would be interested to hear how your POT day turns out if you are going to be heading to it?
Thank you Diemersfontein, and thank you Sam for what is to be a very good start to the summer months of 2014!
