HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRU

Getting this post up without my partner in crime noticing was difficult enough – now the task of properly articulating my true thoughts about the birthday girl seems to be even more of a difficult task! I am however going to give it a try!

If I have to try and think back to when Sam and I first met, I can assure you I cannot remember it (no doubt Sam can) BUT what I do know is that for over 15 years we have been close friends-close to the point that I would call this chick my sister!

I don’t want to bore you with a million memories that we have shared together; what I do want is to share some pictures with you that extend over a lengthy timeline of friendship! 

To you, my Bru – I want to wish you the happiest of birthdays. This is the big 3 0 and a distinct milestone in your life; you have turned out to be a magnificent woman – determined, elegant, loyal, and a person that I can laugh with til the tears come out of our eyes.

You have always been by my side through all the weird, wonderful and sometimes dodgy things we have done! We’ve worn Christmas hats at our first job at Cardies, lifted heavy catering equipment and picked off delicious platters at By Word Of Mouth, lived on an all carb diet during 1st year at UCT, drank numerous jägerbombs while serving the masses at Tiger Tiger, fallen asleep to a Celine Dion CD in Stellenbosh, actually graduated university together, made our daily coffees at Nedbank a ritual, decided and made a blog happen, spent far too much disposable income in numerous retail outlets all over the world and most importantly, we have continued to remain best friends over all this time.

I literally cannot imagine a day without you in my life, and I can only hope that the next thirty years are going to be as amazing as these 30; no doubt we will still be sending each other 1000 whatsapp messages per hour! As far as friends go, I could not wish for any better. Thank you for being you.
