Processed with VSCOcam with se3 presetAs best friends, we have shared most of our secrets with each other. Including, any and every possible magical combination to combat a bad skin day (which, as we all know, is infinitely worse than a bad hair day) and fight off the signs of ageing. Given that we send approximately 600 whatsapp messages between ourselves every day, the Aesop Parsley and Seed Masque would not be a secret weapon for only one of us for very long…

In a very short, nutshell: Sam bought one in London earlier this year. Sam loved the mask. Sam told Ilaria about the mask. Ilaria contemplated getting a friend from London to bring her one over Christmas-time. Sam discovered that Aesop was actually an Australian company during her trip. Ilaria is now the happy-owner of Parsley and Seed Masque, before Christmas 🙂

We both love the masque for similar reasons: the texture of the product is beautiful, it applies thinly (using the smallest amount you can possibly imagine) and has a natural, slightly herb-y smell. Once the mask is removed (using handfuls of cool water), we both feel as though our skin is less congested and cleaner. And while we have very different skin-types (combination; dry-sensitive), the masque works wonders for us both and has become a firm favourite on ‘Facial Fridays’.

    Hi gals!

I reaaaaally want that mask, so here’s my beauty secret:
I dye my hair every month and use a straightening iron on it very regularly. To prevent it going dry and to keep the colour vibrant, I’ve been using Kerastase Reflection Chroma Riche. It keeps my hair nice and soft and shiny, and the colour barely fades at all. I got the whole range (shampoo, conditioner/treatment and serum) on special at my salon a while ago – it’s not the cheapest but it lasts forever because you only use a little bit of each product. They often have it on special at, which is a super rad sight for hard-to-find hair products.

I have 2 beauty secrets: firstly, for dry cuticles there is really only one solution and that is Crabtree & Evelyn’s La Source cuticle cream. It moisturises your cuticles beautifully without being oily – truly a miracle treatment! My second secret (and this one really does spruce me up when I am having a bad hair day) is dry shampoo. I have tried several brands and Batiste comes out tops. Not only does it work like a charm at making your hair look, feel and smell freshly washed and full of volume, but it also has so many options, from different scents to various colours to cater for all hair colours. Amazing!

This product looks amaaaaazing! My must have beauty product to “spruce up” highlighted hair is the Moroccan oil treatment, for fine and light coloured hair. It really is amazing especially during our dry, joburg winters and for windy, beachy summers! Don’t be fooled by the cheaper generics, the real deal is worth every penny!!

For those horribly dry Jozi winters, I bought a very large (and cheap!) bottle of primrose oil from Dischem and made sure I bathed in it every second night or so. Worked like a bomb! This masque looks incredible by the way. Holding thumbs! x

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardener’s Hand Recovery will spruce up the most haggard of hands, seriously, you ladies HAVE to try it – I’m obsessed (followed by their Pomegranate Hand Therapy and you’re set). Love the sounds of this masque – pick me!

    Hi Ladies!
My secret morning spruce actually begins the night before. I always sleep with a silk headscarf on my hair! This prevents me from waking up looking like the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz. Less time spent taming my mane is more time to enjoy my morning coffee!
