I’m off this evening for a long overdue – and much needed – holiday to Australia.
While I’ll only be visiting Melbourne and Sydney during my stay, I am very excited to see what Australia’s two largest cities have to offer. I’m expecting great (if not very expensive) things from the home of Country Road and Witchery, which are without a doubt two of my favourite shopping spots in SA.
My husband and I will also be dining at one of the most prolific restaurants in Sydney – The Quay by Peter Gilmore. If you watch MasterChef Australia you might remember the “snow egg” in the Season 2 finale.
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!
Melbourne is known for it’s culture – apparently it rivals some European cities. I look forward to sipping a delicious cappuccino on the side walks and watching the hipsters go by.
We have booked lunch for this Saturday at The Press Club (George Calombaris of MasterChef fame), an intimate 32 seater restaurant with a focus on Greek hospitality – a nod to his heritage. On Sunday we will do a wine tour of the Yarra Valley and see whether the famous Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs of the region can compete against some of my local favourites.
I’ll being keeping Instagram updated with the pics of the holiday so if you are interested, follow us on Instagram.
If you do have any fabulous suggestions of what do in either of these two cities, I would love to hear from you by commenting on the post – click on comments above and suggest away 🙂
