Sam and I both enjoy attending unique and interesting events, even more-so now that we have our blogger hats on!

This past Sunday was therefore a real treat for us as we attended the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary Fair (previously known as Food Wine Design) on the rooftop of Hyde Park Shopping Centre. The fair was a feast for the senses; showcasing bespoke designs in fashion and homeware, gorgeous “drool over” cuisine and a wide selection of fine wines, craft beers and quirky drinks.

The general ambiance of the fair was fresh, clean, authentic and creative.

We both noticed the vast majority of the stall owners were young entrepreneurs, all starting to make a mark in their specific industries. It’s wonderful to witness young South Africans making a difference and following their passions – I think it reveals a lot about the young culture of our country.

We visited many beautifully designed stands, and are definitely going to write up individual posts about some of our favourites of the day but for now we thought we would take you on a visual journey of our wonderful Sunday at the fair…

This is a definite must for the next calendar year. A big thank you to Sanlam and all the hard working entrepreneurs for making our day spectacular!
