I CANNOT believe how quickly August has come around! It has been an incredibly busy and adventure-filled year for the both of us; both on the blog and on a personal level and we are so thankful for how lucky we are!

Oh-So-Grateful

The adventures of 2015 certainly haven’t stopped yet, and this month is particularly special for two reasons:

1. It’s my partner-in-crime, partner-in-blog and best friend’s 30th birthday in a few days! We unfortunately won’t be together to celebrate it because of reason number 2, below.

2. It seems almost surreal but the Spruce girls will be avoiding the notorious August winds and heading off to Europe for a few weeks!

Sam’s very generous husband, Sean, has organized her a birthday trip spanning three countries around Europe. They will be theatre visiting and big-city living in London for a weekend, thereafter they will be exploring culture and beauty in the breathtaking Istanbul, ending with gyros-munching and bronzing under the Greek sun in and around the stunning islands of Greece! I mean?! Seriously – bucket list trip of a life time!

I will also be heading over to experience some of the European summer sun; destination wedding!

Our very good friends, Jed and Lara, are getting married in the beautiful Algarve region of Portugal. Steph is actually Jed’s best man, and so we thought it would be a great opportunity to try and fit in a few other places in Portugal too. Portugal is a first for us both and we will be experiencing a balance of the sea and some inland small towns. I’ve also never been to a wedding outside of SA, so it is super exciting – feels like I’m part of a movie!

It’s quite uncanny that both Sam and myself are leaving a day apart, both headed for the European summer; myself and Steph leave this evening en route to our first stop in Lisbon and Sam leaves tomorrow heading to London to meet up with Sean.

We feel enormously blessed to be experiencing these amazing things, and cannot wait to recount our tales when we return! Unfortunately the blog will be a little quiet but please keep a lookout for an exciting blog giveaway soon as well as regular updates via all our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter); a virtual journey into our trips 🙂

Look out for #sprucetravels and #sprucesummer
